MEMBERSHIP

After you've looked through the website you now want to know what to do! How do you know if you're qualified to join GWV, and how to apply?

Every individual over 18 (from any country, gender, race, religion or sexual orientation) can become member of GWV. Serving as a Global Water Volunteer requires determination, flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor. Membership-fee is $75.00 (or €50.00) per year. Membership is not a guarantee to be selected for a mission.The bonus of registration is that companies and/or organizations are able to search the database for new employees and if your application meets the requirements you have a serious chance to be invited for interviews or other job offers in the field of sustainable water and development projects around the world. Frequently we will publish updates with the names of members who have been selected.

Knowledge of a foreign language is a requirement for a Global Water Volunteer- at least English. Knowledge of French or Spanish will help qualify you for programs in certain regions.

GWV we cannot guarantee placement in your country or region of choice. Our primary goal is to place Volunteers where their skills and experience are most needed.

There is a minimum age of 18 but no upper age limit. Volunteers range in age from students to retirees and can come from all walks of life.

PROCEDURE

Applying is an electronic process but involves several steps. In a nutshell:

1. You submit the application per e-mail with CV, Biography and Letter of Motivation.
2. After you have paid the membership fee you will be included in the volunteer database.
3. When you are selected for a mission we contact you with a placement and you will be invited for an interview.
4. If there is mutual understanding we will provide all instructions.
