GWV - GLOBAL WATER VOLUNTEERS
Global Water Volunteers is a Non Governmental membership-organization for those interested and motivated to invest time, knowledge,
passion and energy as global volunteer to assist in creating more awareness for the importance of clean water and sanitation.
Global Water Volunteers is an awareness and Blue aid-movement- not radical or extremistic,
not provocative, not focused only on one specific water-issue/niche, but water minded in general. Friendly, peace minded and inviting.
Call them THE BLUE ANGELS.
Members will be asked to represent GWV in promotion teams at events to sample and flyer leaflets. Also there is a possibility to
be invited to be send out to assist in sustainable water(health) related projects in especially
and mainly Third World and other development countries during a time period of two (2) to four (4) weeks or more. Also volunteers from
Third World countries could/should be invited to participate in an exchange program to assist campaigns and projects in the privileged
First World. In return GWV will do its utmost best to achieve reductions for events and special offers from partners and advertizers.
The assignment for a volunteer
could be to assist local/national organizations, governments but also commercial companies as long as the subjective projects meet
the conditions of sustainability and the improvement of the quality of life of the people. This can be in your own country but also
in development countries around the world, but also for Rapid Response Relief Actions in natural disaster situations like floods,
tsunamis and outbreak of water related epidemics.
WHY GLOBAL WATER VOLUNTEERS?
"Every day, nearly 6,000 people who share our planet die from water-related illnesses, and the vast majority are children.
Almost two in three people lacking access to safe drinking water survive on less than $2 a day and one in three on
less than $1 a day. More than 660 million people without adequate sanitation live on less than $2 a day, and more than
385 million on less than $1 a day. This evidence highlights clearly the financing difficulties of improving access through
household investment. Every $1 invested in improved water supply and sanitation yields gains of $4-$12.
Adequate investments in water management, infrastructure and services can yield a high economic return by avoiding
costs related to water pollution, contamination and disasters.
To become a member of Global Water Volunteers (active or passive) you are invited to send us- a CV with Biography,
your motivation and a recent photo- by e-mail only. In most cases you dont have to be an industry-expert to be selected because its
all about
solidarity, respect and compassion. Your participation will bring encouragement to those who need, and satisfaction for yourself
that you have accomplished a major difference. You will be proud to be a member of Global Water Volunteers and we will be
proud to welcome you in our midst. Also take in mind that your application will be available for companies and organizations
who are looking for new employees or stagiaires. They will be able to contact you directly with job offers.
So membership has more advantages then only be considered a paying supporter.
Member administration-fee for registration and handling- $75.00 (50.00) per registration per year. Registration/membership
is not a guarantee your will be send on a field mission, it is all depending available fund and matching demands.
If selected and send-out, Global Water Volunteers will take care of all expenses but will not pay any salary or fee.
Depending the kind of request for assistance, Global Water Volunteers will find the right match that meets the requirements.
Global Water Volunteers will consider a mix of key arguments- motivation, health, skills, education, social engagement, and cultural
interest- to find the right person for the right place.
