A very feasible project would be to establish a glass factory at our silicon deposit near Roberts International Airport. The sand in this open pit mine is of highest quality. In the whole of West Africa is no glass factory at all. The demand for glass is enormous in Liberia as well as in the neighboring countries Guinea, Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone. The Mano River Region (Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea) is ready for a renewal of this industry, especially for household use and construction (windows). Liberia again is a trade gateway to the region; it was, it still is and will remain so. Liberia had a glass industry before the civil war (1990 – 2003) and such factory would provide jobs and income for the whole region.
