Rainforest
Most of equatorial Africa, or land near the equator, is a lush, tropical rainforest. The rainforest is hot and wet; an average of more than 70 inches of rain falls annually. Rainforest is home to some of the world's most important vegetation because it provides oxygen to the entire planet, and keeps the earth's temperature from rising. If the earth's temperature rises, even by a few degrees, the ice near the north and south poles will melt and the oceans will rise. Most of Palm Beach County is less than ten feet about sea level, so global warming could have a strong impact on our lives.

They are not suppose to eat or drink anything at all, nor smoke, nor have any sexual relations during this time.

Ramatoulaye
Ramatoulaye Diallo is a model from Senegal, who won the Face of Africa 2001. She was persuaded to have her head shaved bald by the stylists for the competition and it seems to have done her no harm at all. When Jan Malan (Head Scout) found Ramatoulaye, she had natural dreadlocks. The international beauticians hired for the final show found her hair quite a challenge to style, and something drastic had to be done.

VISIT RWANA
As of mid-1997 it was safe, despite the massive upheavals in the region, to visit Rwanda overland from Uganda or Tanzania to see the gorillas in the Parc National des Volcans (via Kigali). The most important thing to bear in mind is that this is Africa, and in Africa things change rapidly. It’s not enough to simply assume that things will still be all right now.
