Oluchi Onweagba
Oluchi's first name in her native Igbo language means "God's Work". Her father was a civil servant, and her mother was a nurse. She and her siblings (two brothers and a sister) lived in Ayilara Street, Ojuelegba, in Surulere, a low-income area of the sprawling Lagos (the Nigerian commercial capital) metropolis. She spent her high school years as a good student, and enjoyed playing tennis and ping pong. To make her story one of rags to riches, it is often reported that to make ends meet, she sometimes sold bread on the streets of the city.She was urged by a family friend to enter into the M-Net Face of Africa preliminary screening at the M-Net office in Victoria Island, Lagos which she scaled through. The agency immediately groomed her to be one of Nigeria's entrants for a model competition, the M-Net Face of Africa (now called the Nokia Face of Africa).

Nicky Oppenheimer is the patriach of the Oppenheimer Family, owners of the De Beers diamond empire. With a dominant position in diamond production and marketing around the world, the Oppenheimer family have acquired wealth estimated at £2.8 Billion. Nicky Oppenheimer has come a long way since tagging along his father, the late Harry Oppenheimer, to company meetings as a little boy. Nicky's first job was in 1968 as personal assistant to the chairman of Anglo American, the largest shareholder in AngloGold, a diversified natural resources group that has a cross-holding structure with De Beers. Six years later, he became a director, and in 1978, director of De Beers.

After enduring his womanizing behavior, she eventually kicks him out and then meets a British adventurer with whom she falls in love. Upon her return to Denmark, she becomes a famous novelist and writes about her romantic adventure.

Influenced by the beautiful documentaries on television and with some fear for the unknown, in 1996 Ellen and Paul from Holland went for their first adventure through Africa. Sleeping in a little tent between the wildlife and sometimes so remote that the nearest village was hundred miles away, first worried them. They didn't know then that their first experiences in Botswana would chance the rest of their lives. The Africa madness "infected" them like many others. In 1997 Ellen and Paul travelled from Johannesburg to Nairobi, in 1999 through Kenya and Tanzania and in 2000 they went to Uganda.

The Owens Foundation! Learn about the conservation work of American zoologists Mark and Delia Owens. Beginning in 1974, Delia and Mark worked for seven years in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve of Botswana studying brown hyenas and black maned lions where they made landmark discoveries regarding both species. From 1985 through 1997 the Owenses worked to rehabilitate a 5,000 square mile area in north Zambia by eliminating elephant and meat poaching for the benefit of the people and the wildlife living there. In 1997, Delia and Mark returned to the US and began assisting grizzly bear conservation in North Idaho, which is one of the five remnant grizzly bear populations in the lower 48 states. Today, Delia and Mark continue their support for the people and wildlife of Zambia as well as working for grizzly bear conservation in the northwestern US.
