Bronze Wamès are worn by the village heads Tékhani Ifan. These bracelets were supposed to make them invulnerable in combat.
Their massiveness characterizes wealth and social status of the holder. When a chef wears one of these bracelets
it is taboo and strongly prohibited to have contact with women.
