In the Kissi language Piomdo means “old corpse”. It is the object of worship and plays a role as funerary object.
The Kissi believe that all great men, after their deaths, appear as a Piomdo. It is the image of a dead forefather used
in foretelling. It is kept in an isolated box or with the heir of the deceased.
Piomdo, signifie "vieux cadavre" en langue kissi. Il fait l'objet d'adoration et joue le rôle de mobilier funéraire. En pays Kissi, ou estime que tous les grands hommes, après leur décès, apparaissent sous forme de piomdo. C'est l'image d'un grand-père mort utilisée dans la divination. Il est conservé dans une case isolée ou chez l'héritier du défunt.
